Lorre Smith, Savannah from JoyKatz and Carol Strieit at Savannah Cat Seminar
| Savannahs continue
to make headlines wherever they go! |
On Saturday March 8th Lorre Smith,
President of SIMBA (the Savannah International Member &
Breeder Association) made the trek from Austin, Texas all
the way to Delaware, Ohio to offer a seminar to judges and
interested exhibitors and spectators at a TICA show that
weekend.
 |
The seminar was a huge success and the preliminary
promotion done by the club sponsoring, brought hundreds
of people from near and far to see the Savannahs in
attendance. In fact, the local newspaper came, took
pictures, and ran an article on the Savannah.
Lorre gathered information and pictures from other
SIMBA members to offer a two-hour talk on the Savannah
standard. She brought Savannahs of her own as well
as one from another breeder in Texas, Joy Peel. In
addition to those cats two other SIMBA members, Carol
Streit and Callie Ingram came from Illinois with Savannahs
of their own to put on display for the seminar.
|
All in all, it was a very successful
event. SIMBA, once again, was able to take a huge forward
step in its goal of getting the breed better known and well
thought of.
|
In addition, the judges in attendance
were able to get hands on training and the handling
and judging of the Savannah after the seminar reflected
what they had gleaned from the presentation.
